Job Title: Maintenance Technician Intern

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
Location: Cedar Hill, Texas
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician Co-op will assist the maintenance team with preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and facility upkeep. This internship provides hands-on experience in maintaining machinery, building systems, and equipment while developing technical and safety skills in a professional environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment under supervision.
- Help maintain facility systems, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and production equipment.
- Perform equipment cleaning, lubrication, and general upkeep activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders as assigned.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with inventory management of maintenance supplies, tools, and parts.
- Participate in continuous improvement and workplace organization initiatives.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a technical, vocational, or college program in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in manufacturing, warehouse, or facility environments.
- Ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience from coursework, labs, or technical projects related to maintenance or repairs.
