Machine Helper 1st shift

Description

As a Machine Helper, you’ll support the Machine Operator in safely and efficiently producing quality corrugated products. You’ll help keep materials and supplies available, assist with machine operations and changeovers, monitor product quality, and maintain a clean and organized work area. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn manufacturing equipment and develop the skills needed to advance within production

Shift: 1st Shift

What You’ll Do

  • Assist the Machine Operator with machine setup, changeovers, and production activities.
  • Keep materials, tooling, and supplies available to support continuous production.
  • Feed materials and assist with handling and movement of product as directed.
  • Monitor finished product for quality issues and communicate concerns to the Machine Operator.
  • Assist with counting, stacking, packaging, or preparing products according to job requirements.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
  • Complete required production, quality, or equipment documentation.
  • Report equipment problems, material issues, or other concerns to the Machine Operator or supervisor.
  • Learn machine operations, safety procedures, quality requirements, and production processes through hands-on training.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with additional responsibilities as business needs require.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Previous manufacturing or production experience.
  • Experience working around machinery or industrial equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Corrugated or packaging experience is a plus.

What to Expect on the Job

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll spend most of your shift on your feet assisting with machine operation, handling materials and products, and keeping the work area organized. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

Our facility is not climate-controlled, so temperatures may vary throughout the year. You’ll work around moving mechanical equipment where noise, dust, vibration, and other typical manufacturing conditions are present. Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, and protective footwear, must be worn in designated areas.
