Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Staten Island Mill
Salary: $70-$75k
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
Dept: Warehouse
Reports to: Controller
Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for all activities in the Warehouse including but not limited to overseeing shipments, inventory, and housekeeping.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the warehouse floor, inventory at an average of 3500 Tons of Roll Stock.
- Manage a team of 8 (including covering shifts).
- Handle all freight claims with truckers and Pratt Locations.
- Work with Production Team for scheduling of trucks.
- Data Entry of Load information in two systems.
- Take inventory once a month and be able to identify missing or mislabeled rolls.
- Work with Pratt Sites to arrange for deliveries.
- Maintain a neat and organized warehouse.
- Maintain safety and equipment standards.
- Oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
COMMUNICATION/LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must have good communication and problem solving skills.
- Able to read, write and speak in English and follow instructions.
- Ability to read a variety of policy and procedure manuals, computer manuals, reference materials, etc.
- Requires the ability to enter data into computer and to prepare reports.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies; operating material handling equipment.
- Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
