Job Description
Overview:
- Performs required maintenance on the plant’s building, machinery and equipment.
- Assists other maintenance personnel in performing mechanical maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow and ensure that coworkers adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
- Maintain a safe & clean work area.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components.
- Ensure that all work orders provided are completed as requested, or solution is reached.
- Maintain parts inventory.
- Complete all paper work and data entry as required.
- Assist in the training of coworkers.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to read mechanical diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Must have a good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Intermediate computer skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Must be able to read & use a non metric measuring tape
- Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division)
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or higher preferred, but not required
- At least 5 years of experience, or documented training.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes (30 degrees – 110 degrees Fahrenheit).
