Description
Process Engineer
The Process Engineer has the primary responsibility of troubleshooting and identifying process control and maintaining all other process equipment documentation. This position acts as a technical resource for all processing equipment. Identify and implement process improvements in production with emphasis on operational performance and data-driven decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment using observation and production data
- Ability to translate data into measurable process improvements
- Monitor process performance using KPIs (OEE, downtime, yield, scrap, capacity) to identify root causes
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for production visibility by department, press, and line
- Standardize KPI definitions and reporting across departments
- Analyze data (Excel, Power BI, ERP/MIS) to support decisions and improvements
- Support equipment retrofits, upgrades, and process validation
- Assist with product changes and start-up procedures
- Evaluate process improvements and train production employees on standard execution
- Develop training programs, troubleshooting guides, and process control documentation
- Support onboarding and ongoing training with KPI awareness and accountability
- Lead structured problem-solving (Kaizen, A3, DMAIC) targeting OEE, downtime, throughput, and cost
- Support process capability studies, documentation, and safety initiatives
- Collaborate with planning on scheduling, capacity, and workload balance
- Assist with capital estimates using cost, capacity, and ROI analysis
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and BRC requirements
- Maintain ~50% floor presence to validate processes and reinforce standards
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred (or similar job experience)
- Knowledge of SPC, DOE, and quality systems
- Experience building and interpreting dashboards and KPI reporting (Power BI preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills (data modeling, costing, reporting)
- ERP/MIS experience
- Continuous improvement experience; leading Kaizen, A3 or similar efforts required
- High-volume manufacturing experience (print or packaging), digital/analog preferred
- Ability to analyze operations and influence cross-functional teams
- Experience training and coaching production and support teams

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and high and low temperatures. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
