Human Resources Generalist(entry level)

Pratt Industries is currently seeking a bilingual Human Resources Generalist. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager and is ideal for candidates with manufacturing experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full Cycle recruitment with adherence to processes and policies within the Recruitment Management system.
  • Record retention of employee personnel files, medical files, and I-9 forms. Monthly audits to ensure accurate records are being maintained.
  • Translate Spanish/English to support department managers as needed. Including but not limited to safety orientation, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Support Supervisors and Department Managers with attendance tracking, attendance documentation, and facilitation of the attendance policy.
  • Maintain and administer all HR reports and records as required by state and federal laws.
  • Administer employee benefits including insurance.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating employee engagement events.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener.
  • Professional appearance to support his/her role in the human resources department.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- 2+ years of administrative experience required.

- Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing an education towards a relevant degree

- Manufacturing experience preferred

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Computer literate (proficient in MS Word, MS Excel)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read and write English. Bi-lingual English & Spanish preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Computer literate (MS Office including Word and Excel)

Preferred Candidates with experience with ADP

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, sit and stand. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to on the manufacturing floor wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment can be, at times, loud.
