Information Technology Infrastructure Project Manager

Description

Role summary

Support plant and branch network infrastructure and coordinate infrastructure projects across Pratt’s manufacturing sites, including corrugated plants, sheet plants, and mills. Work on site with plant personnel, contractors, and the network engineering team to deliver cabling, IDF, switching, wireless, and server room work. Keep projects moving from initial scoping through handoff.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee on-site work: switch installs and cutovers, rack and stack, IDF assessments and cleanups, fiber and copper cabling, and wireless access point deployment.
  • Coordinate low-voltage cabling and fiber contractors: write scopes of work, document progress with photos, and complete final inspections before sign-off.
  • Support plant projects such as equipment installations and server room builds, including IT scope, scheduling, and budget tracking.
  • Support wireless site surveys and documentation using the team's survey tools.
  • Act as the point of contact between plant operations, vendors, and the network team. Track status, risks, and dependencies, and report in the weekly status.
  • Maintain site documentation (as-builts, IDF records, NetBox entries) and work orders in the team's ticketing and project tools.
  • Follow change control and OT safety and security practices, including separation of business and process networks.
  • Escalate technical issues to network engineers with clear triage notes.
  • Share knowledge with team members, including informal coaching for those studying for entry-level certifications.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT infrastructure or plant/field technology experience, including project or contractor coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with switching, structured cabling, fiber, and wireless in multi-site or plant environments.
  • Experience managing subcontractors against a defined scope of work.
  • Working knowledge of OT and IT network separation concepts.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% and work in manufacturing environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with plant staff, vendors, and leadership.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or corrugated operations and plant equipment installations.
  • Familiarity with Ekahau or similar wireless survey tools.
  • Experience with ticketing and project tools (for example BMC Helix, Open Project, or similar).

Not required

This role does not own network architecture, firewall programming, SD-WAN or cloud design, or PLC programming. Those remain with the network engineering team and plant controls staff.

Work environment

Field-based with frequent travel to local and remote sites. Work at plants may include noise, heights, and PPE requirements. Some off-hours work may be needed for change windows. Participation in an on-call rotation is required to respond to network issues that arise after hours.
