POSITION TITLE: General Utilities
REPORTS TO: Safety Manager
SUMMARY:
This job consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness of the facility and grounds. This employee performs cleaning functions on the day shift. Work is evaluated through observation while work is in progress and by inspection of completed assignments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
On a daily basis: Performs cleaning of plant floor and common areas. Chipping green strapping, warehouse clean up, Operating equipment such as a riding floor sweeper scrubber daily. Moves and stores furniture and equipment if needed.
- Maintain adequate inventory of cleaning supplies
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Additional duties may be assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Ability to operate cleaning equipment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position requires extensive walking, stooping, pushing, carrying, climbing, bending and lifting. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

If some of the duties are performed in the plant, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, to wet and/or humid conditions and to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the plant work environment is usually loud.
