Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the Forklift within a warehouse/production environment; including but not limited to pulling and picking orders from the staging areas, loading and/or unloading shipments as per customer specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates Forklift and other machinery or tools to transport, move, stock, and store materials and product in a safe manner.
- Verifies materials and packing slips.
- Pulls, picks, and stages orders based of customer specifications or production needs.
- Prepares items for shipment or production.
- Enters data regarding incoming materials, work-in-progress, outgoing orders, and other operations to ensure records and counts are accurate.
- Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
- Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
- Adheres to daily production schedule.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Assists with maintaining an inventory of materials, product, and goods, such as completing cycle counts, performing calculations, entering information, and other related duties.
- Communicates with production, quality control, maintenance, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
- Must be able to follow directions under limited supervision
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED.
Must be Forklift certified.
Minimum 2 years of Forklift experience.
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read, write and speak in English and follow instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
Product layouts and production specifications
Product quality specifications
Quality standards
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
