Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will participate as a valuable member of the Engineering Team at the Pratt Industries (USA) 100% Recycled Container Board Paper Mill located in Staten Island, New York and report to the Mill Engineering Manager.
The Intern will be a member of a small multidisciplinary Engineering Team consisting of Mill Engineering, Production, and Maintenance Personnel. The primary focus of the Intern is to help in the evaluation of production related issues and aid in resolving these issues in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Perform field analysis and measurements as required
- Develop dimensioned fabrication drawings for various steel components
- Perform material selection and sourcing
- Estimate cost of assigned projects
- Attend various meetings for project coordination
- Use Microsoft Office software to document and complete work assignments
- Use AutoCAD software for reviewing, modifying, and developing drawings
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work in project teams
- Must have a willingness to learn and contribute
- Ability to work on-site at our Staten Island, NY location
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of personnel
- Interest in the Manufacturing Industry
- Willingness to seek-out opportunities and ask questions
- Pursuing a college degree in Mechanical Engineering
