SUMMARY
Supervise employees in the Corrugator Department, ensuring the daily production of high-quality board in a safe, efficient manner with minimal waste. Cross-train employees in key positions to enhance team flexibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain quality, efficiency, and production levels as set by management, and communicate these standards to your team.

Report quality concerns to the Superintendent and assist in determining quality guidelines.

Foster employee engagement and morale through fairness, consistency, and addressing employee concerns. Maintain confidentiality.

Manage inventories of rollstock and corrugator supplies.
-
Coordinate with your supervisor and Maintenance Superintendent on repairs or preventive maintenance for the department.

Keep upper management informed of any problems or situations that may impact department performance.

Enforce corrective action procedures when necessary and meet with employees involved.

Conduct weekly production and safety meetings with departmental staff.

Collaborate with other departments and shifts to prevent issues and ensure smooth operations.

Continuously improve career skills by attending seminars, technical courses, and related college programs.
-
Implement, support, and maintain all company policies and procedures, including safety and good housekeeping practices.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.
-
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise all employees in the department. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, conflict resolution, team building, coaching, and leading employees to improve. Address complaints, resolve problems, maintain documentation, and set an example of superior behavior, attitude, and performance.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
-
High school diploma or GED.
-
Two years of prior supervisory experience.
-
Preferred: Prior experience in the corrugated industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to read a tape measure quickly and accurately.
-
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume, and rate.

Ability to apply concepts of high school math.
REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or graphic form.

Ability to deal with problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS

Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities for efficient operation, as well as the ability to train employees in these areas.

Understanding of cost issues and daily decisions that reduce costs and improve efficiency.

Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and waste minimization policies.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the duties of this job. While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently uses hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and may need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee occasionally sits. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and occasionally exposed to high or precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
